Third Annual Rise Up Musical Talent Search

Flossin Media announces today that the company will present its Third-Annual Rise Up Musical Talent Search this year. Auditions will take place throughout Oregon and SW Washington from June until November—finalists will meet for the grand finale show in Portland in November (dates and locations to be announced). Winner(s) from the finale will receive a remarkable prize package that has, in previous years, included a trip for four to Tampa Bay, Florida; a featured article in Flossin Magazine; a photo shoot and makeover; and 10 hours of studio time.


Previous judges have included Tim Kelly and Bob Robinson, Grammy Award-winning producers who have worked extensively with stars like Madonna, Michael Jackson, and Boyz II Men; James DuBose, Chief Executive Officer of DuBose Entertainment and experienced television producer; and Nate Burleson, wide receiver for the Seattle Seahawks. Judges are looking for performers in the following musical categories: Hip Hop/Reggae, R&B/Soul, and Pop/Rock. New rules, songs may now be original or covered.

Rules/requirements:

Contestants must be at least 16 years of age [note: some venues will be available only to 21+] Applications must be submitted with a $30.00 application fee. Portions of the proceeds from the event will benefit the High School for Recording Artists Portland.

The Role Model Summit

Prominent businesspersons and politicians, professional athletes, and celebrities will participate in a public speaking opportunity that takes them to various struggling, at-risk public schools, juvenile detention centers, youth organizations and business network groups in the various urban metro areas.


The mission is to positively influence, inspire and educate youth and community business owners, employees and independent contractors both struggling and excelling. The idea is to encourage the solutions to other peoples’ struggles as a means to helping one’s own challenging situations. We are, in a sense, leading a campaign to develop mentors and role models from the very community we mentor; a “pay it forward” ideology.
